Why work with David Experience, values, process, and the person behind the camera

Meet David Mathew Bonner

I am Dave — Alberta born and raised, married for more than 27 years, and a father of four. A few years ago, our family traded city life for Drayton Valley, where we found more space, stronger community, and a better pace for family life.

I have worked in professional video production since the late 1990s and launched my own business in 2001. Today, I serve Edmonton, Central Alberta, and select clients across Canada as a hands-on videographer, producer, editor, and photographer.

Most clients work directly with me from the first conversation to final delivery. I help shape the message, plan the production, guide interviews, film the visuals, record clean audio, and edit the finished story so the project stays clear and consistent.

Faith, family, and time under the stars

I love Christ, the Bible, family time, fellowship, discipleship, mountain hikes, and quiet nights photographing the stars. Long-exposure photography reminds me that my small life is part of a much bigger story.

This Milky Way image is one of those quiet reminders. I photographed it from the shore of an Alberta lake, away from the noise and close to the Lord.

25+ years of hands-on video experience

I started working in video in the late 1990s and went out on my own in 2001. Since then, I have built an owner-operated production company around direct communication, preparation, creative problem-solving, and personal accountability.

My work has included corporate communications, healthcare stories, recruitment videos, training content, product features, nonprofit films, documentary-style interviews, events, faith-based projects, and marketing campaigns. Whether I am filming on a factory floor or in a quiet interview room, the goal is the same: respect the people, understand the message, and deliver work that remains useful after the launch.

One point of contact from start to finish

You work directly with me. I personally handle the planning, filming, interviews, audio, editing, and delivery for most projects. That means fewer handoffs, faster communication, and one person who understands the project from beginning to end.

I keep the process practical and straightforward. We talk about what you need to communicate, who needs to see it, and where the finished media will be used. I help turn that into a clear plan, then carry the same creative direction through the final edit.

Comfortable interviews and story-first direction

Many people are uncomfortable on camera, and that is normal. I treat interviews like guided conversations rather than performances, helping people slow down, understand the question, and answer naturally.

I pay attention to what you are trying to say, who you are speaking to, and what you want the video to achieve. Good visuals matter, but they work best when they support a clear message. That is where a story-first approach earns trust.

The Heart Behind My Work

My Christian faith shapes how I work, how I treat people, and what I want my work to serve. I am passionate about supporting Alberta businesses, strengthening local communities, and serving clients with honesty, humility, integrity, and excellence.

I believe in doing honest work that uplifts others and points back to something greater. My goal is to create video and photography that looks professional, communicates clearly, respects the people involved, and makes a lasting impact.
