25+ years. One producer. No agency layers.
Based in Drayton Valley. David Mathew Bonner Video Productions makes corporate videos, brand stories, recruitment films, and training content for Edmonton-area businesses. I do all the work from concept to final edit. Most projects cost $2,500–$5,000.
Since 2001, I’ve worked on hundreds of projects across corporate, industrial, healthcare, energy, tourism, entertainment and commercial production — from small Alberta businesses and organizations to some of Canada’s most recognizable brands. Over the years, my work has included projects for HMV Canada, CBC, Molson, Budweiser, Enbridge, Ledcor, TELUS, Alberta Health Services, Mitsubishi Motors of Canada, Travel Alberta, and OMG’s Candy — to name a few.
That experience shapes how I work today. My focus is primarily on small and medium-sized businesses and organizations across Alberta that want professional video without the layers and overhead of a traditional agency. I also take on select larger and confidential projects, including NDA productions with Mariner Wealth Advisors for their clients across Canada.
I’ve built a compact professional production kit that lets me travel light, get on a flight, land, and get to work. Whether the shoot is in Edmonton, Drayton Valley or across Canada, the approach stays the same: professional work, direct service, honest travel and honest rates.
Every project starts with understanding what you’re trying to say, who you need to reach, and what you want the video to accomplish. From there, I help guide the process — finding the story, shaping the message, and figuring out the best way to bring it to the screen. From corporate interviews and brand stories to recruitment, training and marketing content, I help Edmonton and Alberta businesses create video that feels genuine, looks professional, and connects with the people watching.
Good corporate video shouldn’t feel corporate. I’m always looking for the story and the shot that helps tell it — whether that’s a person, a piece of machinery, a process in motion, or one small detail that says more than a paragraph ever could. I help you figure out what matters, how to show it, and how to bring it all together. From the first idea through interviews, filming and the final edit, I guide the process from concept to creation.
Whether you’re launching something new, explaining a product, promoting an event or simply trying to get noticed, I start with the message and build the video around it. The goal isn’t just to fill a feed or check a marketing box — it’s to create something worth watching that helps people understand, remember and act on what you have to say.
Some stories need a little more imagination, and some projects require discretion. Real footage is my starting point, but today’s production tools give us ways to create shots and scenes that simply couldn’t be captured otherwise. When it genuinely helps tell the story, I can use selective AI-assisted visuals alongside traditional production. I’m also comfortable working within NDA and confidential review requirements.
The tools keep changing. Good storytelling doesn’t. I listen first, understand the message, find the shot, and use the tools that best help tell the story.

No account-manager handoffs and no bloated crew. You work directly with me from planning through filming and final edit.
I only take on one or two new projects a month alongside recurring client work. If you have a meaningful or challenging project, I would love to talk.

I believe good work comes down to a few simple things: show up, do the work, be honest about what is needed, and give people something dependable.
That has been my approach to video production since 2001 — practical, direct, and focused on creating work that actually serves the people I make it for.
Creator • Videographer • Photographer
I run a small videography company with a big imagination. What I bring to a project goes well beyond pushing record. It starts with listening, understanding what you want to accomplish, imagining what the story could become, and finding creative ways to bring it to life.
After more than 25 years in video production, much of that creative process has become instinctive. I’m thinking about the story, the shot, the sound, the pacing, and the final edit while we’re still developing the idea. Whether I’m filming a person, a piece of machinery, a process in motion, or finding a way to visualize something that can’t be filmed at all, I’m always looking for what will make the story work.
The tools have changed enormously since I started — and they keep getting better. Better cameras, smaller lights, better audio, drones, 360 cameras, and now AI give me creative possibilities I could only have imagined a few years ago. But the fundamentals haven’t changed: listen well, find the story, find the shot, and know how to put it all together.
Technology gives me more ways to create. Experience, imagination, and knowing when — and when not — to use those tools are what make the difference.

Making video look good takes skill. Making it mean something takes vision.
