The Anti-Agency Agent Advantage

One creator. One vision. No account-manager handoffs, inflated crews, or unnecessary agency layers. Clear messaging, cinematic visuals, and direct accountability from concept to final edit.

A short theme song and visual I made — a creative snapshot of how I’ve worked solo for over 25 years as an anti-agency agent.

What is videotelling?

My work is built around videotelling — where clear messaging meets cinematic storytelling. A good-looking video does not automatically make a good story, and a strong message can be weakened if the pieces are not handled properly.

My skill is knowing what to use, what to leave out, and how to put the pieces together so the final video has context, character, and purpose. Interviews, visuals, pacing, music, b-roll, tone, and expression all matter.

Whether I am creating a corporate video, nonprofit story, recruitment piece, testimonial video, or short-form social media edit, the work has to stay true to the message and serve the people it is meant to reach.

Flash can grab attention, but story earns trust. That is the aim every time.

What I bring to every project

  • 25+ years of full-time video production experience
  • Interview skills that help people feel comfortable on camera
  • Clear messaging shaped for real audiences
  • Documentary-style storytelling with purpose
  • Strong visuals and b-roll that support the story
  • Lean one-man crew production without agency bloat
  • Direct communication from first call to final export
  • Fast, prepared, and adaptable on location
  • Creative thinking from concept to final cut

What I don’t bring

  • No bloated crews or inflated budgets
  • No agency layers, sales teams, or upsells
  • No filler, fluff, or empty visuals
  • No ego in the edit room
  • No shortcuts or “good enough” work
  • No bending principles for a paycheck
  • No blame games — just accountability

I only take on one or two new projects a month alongside recurring client work. If you have a meaningful or challenging project, I would love to talk.

Creator • Videographer • Photographer

I’m an Alberta videographer based in Drayton Valley, serving Edmonton, Central Alberta, and clients across the province. Since 2001, I have planned, filmed, and edited projects directly for businesses and organizations. Clients work directly with me from start to finish, which keeps communication clear and the final story aligned.

My focus is simple: honest, story-first video that helps businesses stand out. No sales gimmicks. No inflated crews. Just dependable video production built with care, experience, and purpose.

A lot of what I do starts before the camera rolls. I picture the tone, the pacing, the visuals, and how an idea can come together from concept to final cut.

David Mathew Bonner, Alberta videographer and photographer serving Edmonton and Central Alberta
I am a video maker and storyteller who also works comfortably in still photography. Hybrid cameras let me capture both motion and images with one consistent approach — giving clients more value without losing creative focus.
How I Work

Modern Tools. Built With Purpose.

I’m creative, but not for the sake of it.
Everything has to serve the message.

I like strong visuals, movement, texture, and impact, but I do not believe in empty flair. The look of a video should serve the message, not distract from it.

A lot of my work starts before the camera rolls. I picture the tone, pacing, movement, sound, and structure before I begin building the piece through shooting, audio, editing, and story flow.

I use modern tools because they help me do better work — 4K cameras, drones, stabilizers, clean audio, professional lighting, current editing software, and AI when it genuinely adds something useful.

That is where my best work lives: visually strong, creatively sharp, and still grounded in a message people can actually follow.

Making video look good takes skill. Making it mean something takes vision.
Concept to Creation

From Rough Idea to Finished Video

A lot of clients come to me with a rough idea, a loose message, or a problem they need to communicate. That is normal.

My job is not just to show up and film. My job is to help shape something worth filming in the first place.

I think in visuals, interviews, pacing, sound, and story structure. I picture how a video could look, feel, flow, and land with an audience, then build it piece by piece from concept to shoot to final edit.

That is one of my real strengths: turning ideas into video content with context, character, and purpose.

This is where experience matters — not just in using a camera, but in knowing what the story needs.
FRAME 003 • CORPORATE & MARKETING VIDEO PRODUCTION

Hands On. Faith Driven. Story Focused.

What sets me apart

Twenty-five plus years in professional video production
I understand the message behind the shot, not just the shot itself. I combine artistic instinct with practical, reliable execution to create video content with context, character, and purpose.

I regularly produce corporate videos, documentary-style stories, interview-based content, and marketing videos in Edmonton and across Alberta. I understand how to build trust, clarify value, and shape a message for the people it needs to reach.

I am also strong at taking a half-formed idea, finding the real story underneath it, and carrying that idea from first conversation to finished video.

I also handle sensitive or internal projects under NDA with strict confidentiality and controlled distribution.

Solo videographer with full creative control

Most of my work is handled as a lean one-man production: producing, directing, interviewing, filming, lighting, audio, b-roll, editing, and final delivery. That keeps the process practical, cost-effective, and focused on the story instead of unnecessary layers. I can scale up when a project genuinely needs it, but my strength is delivering professional video without making the process bigger or more expensive than it needs to be.

Faith, Integrity, and Work That Means Something

Rooted in Christ. Anchored in Truth.
My Christian faith shapes how I work, how I treat people, and what I want my work to serve. I approach each project with honesty, humility, conviction, and a desire to create work that is useful, excellent, and dependable.

“Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men.”

Common Questions

How much does a video cost?
Projects typically range from $1,500 to $7,500+ depending on scope. Most business videos fall between $2,500–$5,000.
Do you travel outside Edmonton?
Yes. I’m based in Drayton Valley and regularly serve Edmonton, St. Albert, Sherwood Park, Red Deer, Central Alberta, and locations across the province. Calgary and Canada-wide travel are available for select projects.
Who owns the finished video and raw footage?
You own the completed video. Once the project is finalized and paid, you receive the agreed finished deliverables and the commercial rights to use and distribute them for the intended business use. Raw footage and project files are not automatically included, but can be delivered when they are part of the agreed project scope. Licensed music, stock assets, fonts, templates, and other third-party materials may have separate licensing conditions. I retain the right to show the finished work in my portfolio unless the project is confidential, covered by an NDA, or we have agreed otherwise.
Do you work with strict corporate NDAs or internal projects?
Yes. I regularly handle confidential training, internal communications, and executive projects using secure review, controlled distribution, and offline storage when required.
Can you capture both video and photography on location?
Yes. I can capture cinematic 4K video alongside corporate portraits, action stills, product images, and facility photography during the same production day.
Can one videographer handle a professional corporate production?
Yes. Most DMB Video projects are handled as a lean owner-operated production. I can manage producing, interviews, camera, lighting, audio, b-roll, and editing directly, while bringing in additional crew only when the scope genuinely requires it.
How long does a corporate video project take?
Many business projects are completed in roughly 1–3 weeks from filming to final delivery, depending on scope, approvals, and revisions. Simple or time-sensitive edits can often be turned around faster.
What is the Anti-Agency Agent advantage?
You work directly with one experienced producer who plans, films, records, and edits the project. There are no account-manager layers, oversized crews, or unnecessary agency costs.
