The Anti-Agency Agent
David Mathew Bonner
Think of an old-school video store: clear choices, honest recommendations, and one experienced owner who knows every project on the shelf. No bloated crews, no mystery fees — just direct video production, photography, editing, and AI-assisted creative work built around what your business actually needs.

What Comes With Every Booking
Corporate video production, interviews, promotional video, photography, editing, and AI-assisted creative work all begin with the same promise: no rental games, no nickel-and-diming, and no agency bloat. Every project comes with a complete core kit, experienced planning, and direct one-person accountability.
Full Basic Kit
You’re not renting gear one piece at a time. I bring the full toolkit and build a customised setup
around your project instead of billing you for add-ons.
- Sony camera system with a wide range of lenses
- Tripod and support gear
- LED lighting for clean, simple setups
- Wireless lav mics and shotgun mics
- Slider, gimbal, and teleprompter when needed
- Small drone for approved locations and conditions
One Person, Many Hats
Agencies break this into five job titles. I keep it lean. You deal with one
person — and that person handles everything from direction to delivery.
- Director — keeping the story on track
- Producer — planning the practical details
- Camera operator — managing the full kit
- Audio — ensuring clean, usable sound
- Editor — shaping the final story
- Creative support — helping refine ideas
Planning Without the Bloat
Every project begins with clarity. Some pieces need lightweight planning,
others need deeper story work — both are available.
- Free consult to shape the concept and plan the shoot
- Creative planning session — $150 for a deeper working session
- Ongoing story development — $100/hr for complex builds
What Those Numbers Actually Buy You
The menu is simple on purpose. Behind each line is a full kit, a clear plan, and one person
who stays with your project from the first conversation to the final export.
Full Day Shoots
$1,500
Up to eight hours on site with the full production toolkit. Ideal for larger projects, multiple locations,
or days where we want time to breathe and get every shot right.
- Enough time for multiple locations or setups
- Room for retakes, variations, and additional coverage
- Footage delivered ready for editing or rolled into my edit packages
Half Day Shoots
$850
Up to four hours on site. A lean, focused option for interviews, promos, and content where we know
what we need and want to stay efficient.
- Same full kit as a full day — just less time
- Perfect for one main location or a tight schedule
- Footage ready for your editor or my edit bench
Editing
$100 / hour
Story shaping, pacing, colour, audio, titles, and final exports in the formats you actually need. I cut
with the same mindset I shoot with – clear, honest, and built for real use. I don’t pass projects off
to anonymous editors.
- Assembly and story edit
- Audio cleanup and basic mix
- Colour work and simple titles
- Master and web-ready exports
Hybrid Video + Photo
From $900 (half day)
One booking that covers both video and stills. It takes more setup and pacing to do both well,
but it keeps your story and visuals consistent.
- Video coverage plus product or promo stills
- More efficient than running separate shoots
- Delivered ready for web, social, and print
AI-Generated Video Pieces
$150/hr + AI gen at cost
AI-assisted video production for concept films, product visuals, stylised scenes, explainer elements, and shots that are impractical to capture traditionally. I handle creative direction, prompting, generation, cleanup, and final editing — using AI as one production tool inside a human-led workflow.
- Concept or script development for AI pieces
- Prompt work and generation management
- Cleanup, timing, and pacing in the edit
- Licensed music, titles, and delivery in required formats
- AI generation costs billed at true cost, no markup
Travel & Extras
Straight-up costs
I work out of Drayton Valley and serve Edmonton and central Alberta. Local travel is included. Anything
extra is billed at true cost – no surprise markups.
- First 100 km round trip included
- Beyond that: $75 / hr drive time
- $0.70 per extra kilometre
- Overnights, parking, and flights at cost
Some projects — such as NDA-protected work, tight-turnaround timelines, or international and U.S. distribution —
may require a different rate structure to cover added resources or compliance. Share your scope and I’ll price it
clearly and honestly.
