Case Study: Capturing the Story of Posh Outdoors Watch the full Posh Outdoors video Listening First, Filming Second When Posh Outdoors reached out, their vision was clear: they wanted to invite people into the beauty of their Skyridge Glamping experience while also opening the door for future partnerships with landowners. Before a single frame was filmed, I took time to listen to what mattered most to them and guided the production around that story. My goal was not just to showcase luxury tents in a stunning location, but to capture the heart of their mission—expanding opportunities for people to enjoy the outdoors in comfort and style. Authenticity in the Details I chose to keep the interview conversational, letting their words flow naturally, then carefully cut the footage into segments that felt true to their voice. To complement their story, I included drone footage, wide landscape shots, and even a timelapse of the Milky Way captured while I stayed overnight in one of their units. These visuals weren’t just for spectacle—they were there to reinforce the authenticity and beauty of the setting. Building a Narrative with Purpose Every edit was made to ensure the story moved forward with clarity and flow. By weaving together their words, the immersive scenery, and the atmosphere of the property, the video became more than a highlight reel. It became a narrative—one that speaks to both potential guests and future landowner partners who may want to join the Posh Outdoors vision. Expanding the Vision Posh Outdoors isn’t just about one location. Their goal is to expand into any outdoor space that has the activities, beauty, and settings to create memorable stays. This project was more than capturing a property—it was helping to share an invitation. An invitation for landowners to see the opportunity, and for guests to discover a unique way to connect with nature without giving up comfort. “Great video production isn’t about fancy gear. It’s about finding the story that matters and telling it with honesty and care.” Takeaway For me, this project was a reminder that video production is at its best when it begins with listening. By understanding Posh Outdoors’ vision and combining it with cinematic storytelling, I was able to deliver a piece that feels authentic, polished, and purpose-driven. That’s the type of work I aim to bring to every client—whether in Edmonton, across Alberta, or beyond. Small Alberta Town Street – Community Roots and Local Business Feel
Why Your Small Business Needs Strong Video in 2025 There’s a reason video is still king. Not because it’s trendy or flashy, but because it works. People remember stories. They connect with faces, voices, and purpose. If you’re a small business in Alberta trying to stand out, video is no longer optional — it’s your frontline. Trends fade. Purpose sticks. Honest storytelling builds trust. I’m not talking about throwing a reel together with stock footage and royalty-free music. I mean honest, well-crafted visual storytelling. Something that reflects who you are and why you exist. Something your audience doesn’t scroll past. “People don’t buy what you do — they buy why you do it.” — Simon Sinek Sinek said it well in his “Start With Why” message. And video is one of the clearest ways to communicate your why. A 30-second story done right can show your values, your personality, and your craft — without saying a word. That’s power. It’s not the gear. It’s the story that moves people. Local attention spans are short — and trust is earned Most visitors will decide in seconds if they care. That’s where clear, well-edited content comes in. I’ve worked with clients across Alberta who didn’t need flash — they just needed clarity. And clarity, paired with purpose, builds trust. Want proof? According to Wyzowl’s annual video marketing report, 89% of people say watching a video convinced them to buy a product or service. That’s not fluff — that’s a measurable edge. One-and-done doesn’t work. Strategy and consistency do. Don’t overthink the trend — focus on the message You don’t need drones, slow motion, or background piano to make something good. What you need is a story that sticks. One that makes someone pause and say, “That’s exactly what I need.” If you’re in Edmonton, Central Alberta, or anywhere else in Canada trying to make your message matter, I’d be glad to help.
